To improve inclusion, diversity, equity and access (IDEA) of music education with children, young people and families at the heart of our offer

Our aims

Three aims underpin our work:

• support schools and other education settings to deliver high-quality music education
• support all children and younf people to engage with a range of musical opportunities both in and out of school
• Support young people to develop their musical interests and talents further, including into employment

The role of the Music Hub

Heart of England Music is the Music Hub for Coventry, Warwickshire & Solihull. Its role is to identify and respond to needs in the provision of musical opportunities that enable Schools and Academies to provide an effective and progressive music curriculum, co-curriculum and range of enrichment opportunities for children & young people to achieve the requirements of the National Plan for Music Education.

Heart of England Music will do this by building and promoting a range of partnerships with music organisations to Schools and Academies; by commissioning delivery partners to meet identified needs, and by promoting signposting the learning pathways and musical opportunities available to children & young people within and beyond the Music Hub.

Heart of England Music also advocates and facilitates curriculum and workforce develop opportunities to support Schools, Academies, Music Hub Partners, and local professionals in their delivery of the music curriculum and co-curricular opportunities for children & young people.

The role of Music Hub Collaborative Lead Organisations

Music Hub Collaborative Lead Organisations are the principal delivery partners in each Local Authority area within the Music Hub. They have oversight of the needs of the education settings within their locality. Their Senior Leaders form Heart of England Music’s management team.

Heart of England Music has three Collaborative Lead Organisations:

• Coventry Music, the Collaborative Lead Organisation for the Coventry Local Authority Area
• Warwickshire Music, the Collaborative Lead Organisation for the Warwickshire Local Authority Area
• Solihull Music, the Collaborative Lead Organisation for the Solihull Local Authority Area

The role of Music Hub Members and Delivery Partners

Music Hub Member Organisations and Delivery Partners form of the ecosystem of the Music Hub. They provide specific opportunities, support or resources to meet the music education needs of Schools, Academies, children & young people across the Music Hub. Collaborative Lead Organisation and Delivery Partners receive Music Hub funding to support their work in Schools, Academies and communities across the Music Hub.
